Boys into Health

Boys into Health - Leeds Beckett University

Year 9 male students took part in a ‘Boys into Health’ event hosted by Leeds Beckett University.

Boys are under-represented in the health sector nationally, so it was a great opportunity for our students to take part in practical workshops linked to careers in the health sector.  The students worked in laboratories looking at germs on our hands and testing urine for liver disease and diabetes.    The mannequin patients in the health suite were used to learn about heart beats taking temperatures, monitoring patient screens, and performing CPR to a patient who had gone into cardiac arrest.
