Business plans for Leeds shopping centre
Students discuss ideas to improve the Merrion Centre
On Thursday 19th April 2018, Leeds City Academy’s Year 10 Business students travelled to the Merrion Centre in Leeds to take part in the launch of a Business Enterprise Challenge.
Students were briefed by Town Centre Securities PLC, who are the company that owns the Merrion Centre and are renowned for creating innovating, sustainable and vibrant developments. Pupils have been set the challenge to increase the teenage footfall in the Merrion Centre.
At the launch, students took part in market research, visiting current stores and speaking to the managers to find out whether teenagers visit their stores and what activities could possibly take place to bring teenage shoppers to the Merrion Centre.
Over the coming weeks the students will continue to work on their business plan and decide on how best to spend their allocated budget. The final presentation plan will then be shared with VIP’s of Town Centre Securities who will judge the inter-school competition.
