Extended School Day
Wednesday 3rd October saw the launch of Leeds City Academy's Extended School Day.
Each week, over 120 year 7 students will take part in our extended school day. The extended day gives our year seven students the opportunity to take part in exciting sessions at the end of the academy day each Wednesday.
Our students are given the opportunity to engage in activities and areas that are outside of our school curriculum, working in partnership with Leeds City College.
Students have chosen to take part in activities such as: reality baby play, games design, dance, sport, cabin crew of the future, nail art and bake off. The students have thoroughly enjoyed engaging with the Leeds City College staff and participating in exciting sessions.
Senior Staff from Leeds City Academy have observed students during Extended School Day and stated "It is fantastic to see how the students are interacting with the staff from Leeds City College. It is clear that this project has been a huge success so far."
Year 7 will continue to meet on a Wednesday and participate in the extended school day for the rest of this academic year. During this time, they will have the opportunity to take part in all of the activities on offer from Leeds City College.
