GCSE Results Day 2022
GCSE Results Day at Leeds City Academy
Today saw our Year 11 students visit the academy to collect their GCSE results. It was a wonderful opportunity for staff and students to discuss all they have accomplished during their time at school.
Despite the impact of the Covid-19 pandemic, students at Leeds City Academy have secured excellent results. Since the last set of external examinations in 2019, the percentage of students obtaining grades 4 and 5, including in English and Maths has increased by almost 5%. There has been significant progress in the results obtained by most subjects and the overall progress figure for the school in above national for the fifth year in succession.
Our staff were grateful to be able to welcome students into the academy and celebrate their achievements with them. The whole staff body are so proud of our Year 11 students and would like to congratulate each of them for all that they have achieved during their time at Leeds City Academy.
Mr Chattoe, Principal, said, “This set of results represents an enormous achievement by the students & staff body at Leeds City Academy. The last two years have been extremely turbulent, with significant & prolonged absence for periods of time but through this time & across their final school year in particular, our Year 11 students have worked extremely hard & displayed a combination of amazing resilience & high aspiration to secure a wonderful set of examination results.
“We are so very proud of the achievements of our students & delighted they have secured entry onto level 3 courses, apprenticeships & employment. This set of results clearly demonstrates the continued transformation & improvement taking place at Leeds City Academy & we are all very proud.”
Well done to all our fantastic Year 11 students. Remember, Once White Rose, Always White Rose!
