Into The Woods

Leeds City Academy Year 7 student Ahlam is due to appear in West Yorkshire Playhouse's bold new production of Into the Woods this Summer.

Stephen Sondheim’s classic musical showcases a world where well-known fairy tale characters collide, but for Cinderella, Rapunzel, Jack and Red Riding Hood, together with a childless baker and his wife, ‘Happily Ever After’ turns out to be far from the end of the story.

A recent movie hit starring Meryl Streep, Sondheim’s revered wit and intelligence unite Opera North and West Yorkshire Playhouse in their first major collaboration. The play featuring the singers of Opera North and is directed by the Playhouse’s Artistic Director James Brining.
