Members from the Trust Student Leadership Group and The Diana Award groups from Leeds City Academy joined pupils and staff from Leeds East Academy and Leeds West Academy in attending ‘WE Day’ at Wembley Arena, London on Wednesday 7th March.

The world-wide movement united students from across the UK and recognised their social conscience and charity work in their local communities.

The students were moved by motivational speeches from the young people who had overcome adversity in their lives. They were also treated to performances and speeches from Alexandra Burke The Vamps, Lily Collins, Tokio Myers and HRVY.

Two LCA students, Hafsa and Ahlam, took to the stage to voice the importance of numeracy  in society with KMPG to the 12,000 audience members.

Hafsa said: “It was such a privilege to stand on an international stage to draw attention to the importance of numeracy in our daily lives. This will be an experience that I will remember forever.”

Mrs Foy said: “I was so proud of the Leeds City Academy students today who have truly been motivated by the speakers, they cannot wait to return to school to plan their next steps fund raising for local charities."
