One of the Highest Performing Schools Locally

A Message from the Principal

Dear Parent(s)*

I am writing to you this afternoon to share some excellent news about our Academy!

Each year, on the second Thursday in October, the national league tables are published for all secondary schools in the country. As a Principal, this is just as scary as results day as we wait to see how we compare to schools in the local area, Leeds, the Region and also against the 6480 secondary schools nationally.

I am thrilled to be able to tell you that Leeds City Academy now sits in the top 50% of schools nationally with a positive progress 8 score of 0.14. (Zero is the national average, and the range goes from 1.00 to -1.00).

In addition to this, Leeds City Academy is:

  • The second highest performing school in the area.
  • One of the most improved schools in Leeds
  • The fourth most improved school in Yorkshire

I would like to thank staff, students, and parents for their continued support as we move forward on our journey to outstanding.

A copy of the Leeds league tables is available below so you can see where Leeds City Academy ranks in relation to other Leeds schools.

Please can I also take this opportunity to remind you that next Friday (20th October) is a training day for staff and therefore students are not expected to attend. This only affects Friday 20th for one day.

Huge congratulations to us all!

Yours faithfully,

Jackie Rose
Principal
