Science Club - Glaciers
Students enjoyed learning about Glaciers at LCA Science Club.
Science club started again this week after a one week break and the subject this week was glaziers.
Pupils looked at the effect of snow melting running down glaziers and the effect this has on sea levels. They first modelled a land mass near water and dropped ice cubes in and then measured the increase in sea level as the ice melted.
The pupils then looked at melting snow and its effects. This was the messy part as the ‘snow’ was in fact corn starch mixed with water. This was poured down a plastic guttering which simulated the side of a glazier.
Thank you to all the students who have attended Science Club, we have enjoyed spending time with you each week!
