WRAT Poetry Factor Finale

On Thursday 16th June, students and staff from across the White Rose Academies Trust travelled to local radio station, Chapel FM, for the finale of the White Rose Academies Trust Poetry Factor.

During the evening event, three teams from each school presented and performed their own poems, which they had written and developed during two other sessions in school with local poet, Andy Craven-Griffiths.

Leeds City Academy triumphed in the Best Performance category with a poem entitled The Rose's Hope. The students were awarded a fantastic trophy which now sits proudly in the school’s reception area.

Ms Harness said: “You could feel the tension in the air as the students performed live and the atmosphere intensified as the judges deliberated to decide on the night's winners. Well done Leeds City Academy - your hard work paid off!”
