Kelly Allchin

Assistant Principal

Kelly gained a BSc Honours degree in Psychology and Education Studies at Worcester University before moving to Bristol to complete her PGCE specialising in citizenship education. 

She began her career working for the local council within the Children Services department with the remit of supporting all primary, secondary and special schools within Telford & Wrekin with their Citizenship & PSHE provision, taking a particular interest in student leadership. During this time, Kelly also worked across various settings as a youth worker, supporting young people with all aspects of their well-being. 

Following on from this role, Kelly completed her NQT year at Leeds City Academy (then City of Leeds School) as a PSHE teacher in 2008 and loved the school so much that she never left!  She gained  a TLR in her NQT year as PSHE & CEIAG lead, before moving on to be a humanities department lead, zone leader, director and most recently Assistant Principal.  

Kelly is very passionate about the personal development of young people and is relentless in ensuring that all young people have the skills and opportunities needed to become active and responsible global citizens. 

Outside of school Kelly is a proud mother of two young daughters and loves going on holiday with her family in their caravan.
